Mission

“At St. Kliment Ohridski International School, we recognize the authority of the Creator in every area of study. Our curriculum is designed to acknowledge God's sovereignty and handiwork in creation. On average, students complete at least 60 paces per year.”

Our Educational Philosophy

Individualized Learning
Individualized learning empowers students to progress at their own pace and according to their unique learning needs. This approach ensures that each student receives the attention and resources they require to thrive academically, catering to their strengths and addressing areas where they need additional support. By tailoring education to the learner, it fosters confidence and mastery in each subject area.

Self-Paced Instruction
Self-paced instruction provides flexibility for students to move through curriculum materials at a speed that suits their individual learning styles. This method encourages responsibility and independence, allowing students to spend more time mastering challenging topics while advancing quickly through concepts they grasp easily, ensuring thorough understanding.

Biblically-Integrated Curriculum
A biblically-integrated curriculum combines academic excellence with a strong spiritual foundation, enabling students to develop both their intellect and their faith. This holistic approach equips learners to apply biblical principles in their studies, decision-making, and daily lives, fostering character development alongside academic achievement.

Diagnostic Testing for Placement
Diagnostic testing ensures students begin their academic journey at the appropriate level by identifying their current strengths and gaps in knowledge. This tailored approach allows for accurate placement in the curriculum, setting the stage for a successful and efficient learning experience right from the start.

Learning is not bound by time or space
Learning can take place at any time and in any place, including outdoor classrooms, field trips, internships, travel, or specialized off-campus programs in academics, arts, or sports. While not always feasible, the school aspires to this ideal and prioritizes flexibility in learning environments.

Fostering Critical Thinking
We develop critical thinkers by fostering an environment where diverse viewpoints, both liberal and conservative, are welcomed and safely explored. Our school doesn't align with any particular political ideology. Our teachers engage with ideas from across the spectrum - left, center, and right - challenging students' thinking while remaining open to challenges themselves. This balanced approach makes it difficult for students to discern their teacher-guides' personal political leanings.

Elementary and Secondary Programs (Preschool-Grade 6)
Elementary and secondary programs provide a comprehensive educational framework from preschool through Grade 6, laying a strong foundation for future academic success. These programs are designed to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and character development, offering age-appropriate learning experiences that prepare students for the challenges of higher education and life..
