Senior Phase
- Grades 7–9 | Approximately Ages 12–14
Challenge Your Thinking. Discover Your Potential.
Challenge | Discover | Lead
The school’s original material describes this phase as developing increasingly mature thinkers and independent learners through complex concepts, analytical thinking, research, problem-solving, communication and leadership.
The Senior Phase encourages learners to engage with more complex ideas, become increasingly independent and develop the confidence to think, communicate and lead.
A New Level of Learning
Developing Mature, Independent Thinkers
As learners enter Grades 7–9, academic expectations become increasingly challenging.
They engage with more complex concepts while developing stronger analytical, research and problem-solving abilities. At the same time, learners are encouraged to communicate confidently, demonstrate responsibility and recognise their growing capacity to lead.
- Discovering Leadership
Learning to Lead With Responsibility
Leadership at this stage is not simply about holding a title. It involves learning to communicate, make responsible decisions, support others and demonstrate positive character.
The Senior Phase encourages learners to understand that leadership begins with how they manage themselves.
- Preparing for FET
The Bridge to Their Final School Years
Grades 7–9 prepare learners for a significant transition.
